   The Sustainability of Uruguay's Coastal Zone     

The Sustainability of Uruguay's Coastal Zone is a five year project to develop a Masters Degree in Coastal Zone Management in Uruguay.  It is funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).  The principle activity addressed by the joint Uruguayan-Canadian team has been curriculum development.  The interdisciplinary Canadian team is made up of individuals from the faculties of Engineering, Arts and Social Sciences, Management, Science, Law, Environment Canada and the Atlantic Canada Action Program (ACAP) - 16 communities from Atlantic Canada that have been created, with the help of Environment Canada, to address local coastal issues.  For more information see www.fing.edu.uy/imfia/mcisur
